Prerequisites:
- Ubuntu 22.04 server with root access.
- A valid cPanel license.
Step 1: Update the System
Log in to your server as the root user and update the system packages:
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
Step 2: Set the Hostname
Set the server hostname to a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN):
sudo hostnamectl set-hostname yourdomain.com
Replace yourdomain.com
with your actual domain.
Step 3: Install Perl
cPanel requires Perl. Install it if it’s not already present:
sudo apt install perl
Step 4: Download the cPanel Installation Script
Fetch the installation script from the cPanel servers:
cd /home
curl -o latest https://securedownloads.cpanel.net/latest
Step 5: Run the cPanel Installation
Make the installation script executable and execute it:
chmod +x latest
sudo sh latest
The installation process will begin. Follow the prompts and enter your cPanel license information when prompted.
Step 6: Access cPanel
Once the installation is complete, you can access the cPanel WHM (Web Host Manager) by visiting:
https://your-server-IP:2087
Replace your-server-IP
with your server’s actual IP address.
Step 7: Access cPanel User Interface
To access the cPanel user interface, use the following URL in your web browser:
https://your-server-IP:2083
Replace your-server-IP
with your server’s actual IP address.
Additional Notes:
- Ensure your server meets the system requirements as specified by cPanel.
- Make sure to keep your cPanel installation updated regularly for security and stability.
Remember, cPanel is a powerful tool and should be used with care. It’s recommended to have some understanding of server administration before installing it on a live server.
